JAIME AND FERNANDO GARCÍA-Maiquez Lopez ARTIETA in Smyrna. POETRY OF A

Hello everyone

On 18 February we visited two great poets, Jaime Garcia-Lopez and Fernando Máiquez Artieta, who sincerely appreciate the time we spent.

Both offered us their different styles, the antipodes of each other. The sensitivity of Jaime countered cynicism and irony of Fernando.

a meeting that will remain in the memories and we want to share with you the following verses.

not miss the next. Team

Smyrna.

OH, WORLD
The poet declares his renown My house

despises me. Friends insult me.
work all day. I write nonsense.
I reject the tender book publishers.
humiliate my God. Crucify him.
persecute the Church like hungry wolves.
My life is barren. Nothing makes sense.
O world, how it hurts. Oh, time impregnable.
Oh, love like fire unbearable.

My work tools are truth and life.
Oh, cruel world, lucky to be born!

FAULT

I do not know what the electric flash of
has melted suddenly, like always,
tackle home: stove, refrigerator,
bulbs, TV ...
Your house, in a moment,
has become a place absent a vague memory

where you sit
evicted, submissive and obedient.

II
a few seconds have been flourishing more blind
your senses, growing stronger:
like a miracle, your ears hear the silence
, thy sight transcending,
and touch your hands
stutterer will
modeling first things again.

III

catastrophe in the childish silence lights.
A silence that embraces bright
sitting by your side, you heard
slowly, carefully,
that seems to fall very slowly from the ceiling as a discrete

powder into the soft wood furniture.

IV
When you have-because it hurts sometimes
suddenly, without more,
without notice, when you watch TV or listen
prodigious Handel's Messiah-
is as if, suddenly, you turn off the Home:
you feel, hopeless, and little by little, there are senses
sleeping going on:
hear well where not heard anything touch
says things look, without looking,
life ... Otherwise, the world has to offer.

Have you ever said,
pain and shadow appear.

Jaime García-Máiquez

SONNET TO THE ROSE

centuries of literary tradition and gravel have only
to embalm a sterile literature
is a perfect example-there is a extensive bibliography-
supernatural death by inhalation of success.

are fragile cold, the sighs, the poor land
to share their territory, all insects are redichas
sufficient, bulky, exaggerated
aware of class and, moreover, prick. Van

as eggs in flocks of twelve, and their little cards
always put exactly the same excited
and read exactly the same
always looking for exactly the same effect always persuasive.

you know that you ought not to touch them, but I give you a new commandment
: better nor ye seek.

MY TIME

Among the twilight and night
there is a time when the light does not give
to dazzle or leak in shadow,
hits but not
surrounding matter, with a platonic hug.
and removing things their
of coarse contrast chiaroscuro
forgives sin not to know what
mean, the acquittal
making them more them, and beautifying
everyone who looks at them.
is this light that God sees the world.

Artieta Fernando Lopez was born in Madrid in 1983. He is currently finishing his studies in architecture. Maker of verses, Latin translator, a devotee of the Golden Age and admirer of Bohemian Madrid is the author of the poems Serious Play (Young Artist Award of the Community of Madrid, Visor, 2004) and an unpublished book, whose name know whether we're allowed to reveal. His poems appear in several anthologies, including A century of sonnets in English (Madrid, Hyperion, 2000).

OFFSIDE

At this time we played bad
survive,
revolutionary and be a real retrograde
invoked more often
rosary
a dusty ecstasy of coca,
which claims to be an official
poor, who have a good time
low house, and type (dark) a day.
People have seen that art is no longer
Rinbaud but Ruben Dario;
that sex is boring and less tender
of what they said, that fills the void
everything, and that fire Hell,
the end of the day, we produce cold.
